Daily reflections: Wednesday: August 12/15

Gospel: Matthew 18:15... today\'s Gospel reading is above presence, of being able to be present in the moment and experience the presence of God in that very moment, not in the past or in the future but in the present. We read that Jesus said, “where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them”. When we were young we learn that God was everywhere but we found that in the practical order that God was up in heaven and we were down here on earth and we had to work to get up to heaven. It is unfortunate that we did not believe the words of Jesus. In the Acts we  read, “in God we live and move and have our being”. Both of these pictures remind us that God dwells within us and all around and we are able to experience God in the ordinary. Then we pay attention to and are aware of our action in the moment than we are able to experience the presence of God. When two or three people come together the presence of Jesus is just as real as in the Eucharist.

Reflection:: you experience the presence of Jesus when you\'re with two or three people?

Prayer: Spirit of the living God, over my eyes and my heart so I can see the presence of a God of love in every moment of my life and in every action I perform. I know that if I am presence to the moment, pay attention, when I look with the eyes of my soul I know I can see the presence of God and Jesus. Amen
