Daily reflections: Tuesday: April 14/15

Gospel John 3:7... Jesus continues to teach Nicodemus by referring to the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, as the wind. We read, “the wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, you do does not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit “. We read that after the resurrection Jesus breathed upon the disciples and they receive the Holy Spirit. However, we must not become blind to the fact that Jesus teaches that the Holy Spirit is like a wind that blows where it will and that is the lions in the hearts of people Christians, Catholics, Protestants, Buddhists, Islam, non-believers... as a wind touches everybody so the Spirit is given to everybody however, not everyone is awake and aware that they have been enlightened and empowered to do good. Some people wake up and become aware of the Spirit\'s presence and God\'s love for them, others simply are inspired by the Spirit to do good in working for justice, protection of the environment, harmonious living in communities, compassion and kindness etc. This cannot put the Spirit in the box and control the Spirit in any way since it blows like the wind when and where it wishes.

Reflection: can you see where your life has been shaped by the prompting Spirit?

Prayer:  Holy Spirit, fill a heart of your faithful, and inspired us to be aware of the Spirit presence and follow the promptings of the Spirit to love God and love people, to love all living creatures, and  all of creation. Amen
