Daily reflections: Monday: February 9/15

Scripture: Psalm 104... this is a Psalm of praise to God for creation. We read, “oh Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom you made them all, the earth is full of your creatures. Bless the Lord, O my soul”. This song arises out of the heart of the psalmist who is studying the sky, the earth, and all living creatures. And taking in all of his beauty is heart rises up with praise to God the Creator. The psalmist sees a Divine Presence in all of creation and the words of praise spring from his heart and lips spontaneously. If you use your imagination you can see the psalmist standing before nature, raising his arms, and praising God and recognize that God is so large and so immense that no one or anything can contain the Divine.

Reflection: when you look at a beautiful sunrise, and gorgeous sunset, do you very feel inspired to break out with wonder and amazement at the glory of God?

Prayer: Creating God, like the psalmist when I stand and look at creation and become one with all of creation I find my heart being moved to wonder and awe. I could not remain silent in the face of the beauty and creativity of God. Amen
