Daily reflections: Friday: February 6/15

Scripture: Hebrews 13:1... in this reading St. Paul is writing about a big heart, a heart that\'s been expanded by people become of nowhere on their relationship with God and the power of that relationship spend their heart. For St. Paul God is a big God loves all a creation unconditionally and when one is really a relationship with God in their heart is expanded to also be in love with all of creation. We read: “let mutual love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, remember those who are in prison as though we were in prison with them, those who are being tortured, as though you yourselves were being tortured”. The meeting I got out of the Scripture is that we\'re not only to love people recognize that I\'m aware of our own pain we didn\'t see that we are in one all people who are suffering. Sometimes our God is too small, sometimes our heart is too small, and somehow our capacity to feel the pain of those who suffer is also too small.

Reflection: is your heart big enough to feel the pain of those who suffer?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, your Spirit gave St. Paul a large heart when he suffered so much for the sake of the gospel. Having suffered himself Paul finds himself at one with those who are in pain, the pain of the world. I pray that I too will have a large God, a large heart, and feel the pain of the world. Amen
