Daily reflections: Wednesday: January 14/15

Gospel: Mark 1:29... we read that Jesus having caught in the many synagogues as they move from village to village that while it was dark you went to a deserted place and there he prayed. It\'s clear, that prayer was at the very center of Jesus life, his work was exhausting emotionally and physically at the very easily become tired and emotionally draining. He became emotionally drained you would not be able to function effectively. So time and again we read that Jesus would go to a deserted place and spend the whole night in prayer. He did not say prayers, rather he prayed without words, he knew that was only in silence spirit could restore his energy and keep the fire alive for a long of God and the things that God loves.

Reflection: are you able seek silence and be still so that God might speak to you and you will hear his voice?

Prayer: Jesus, you\'ve shown very clearly the necessity of a prayer in the life of your friends and it is to be praying without words, in stillness and silence. I pray for the grace to be as disciplined in my prayer life as you were. Amen
