Daily reflections: Tuesday: January 13/15

Gospel Mark 1:21... most people agree that Jesus was a clear and capable teacher. He didn\'t lecture so much as tell store, for example, the story of the good Samaritan, the prodigal son, and others. In today\'s reading we find Jesus in the synagogue and he is teaching the people and we read that people that people understood  his teaching and were saying yes to it. Then the people said, “he taught them as one having authority, and not like the scribes”. It was customary for the scribes to teach the people and they never spoke on their own behalf but rather they cool the other authorities and speakers. Jesus did not do this, yet developed at the relationship with God and as a result use able to speak with the authority of God which came from his heart. We know that heart teaching is more effective than quoting other authority.

Reflection: do you feel comfortable about speaking of the spiritual world trusting in your own live the experience?

Prayer: Jesus the storyteller, you knew how to speak not only to the minds but also the hearts of the people and your words were convincing. I pray that I will take the courage to step out and speak from my own experience trusted that my experience has taught me something about God and the spiritual world. Amen
