Daily reflections: Thursday: December 11/14

Scripture: Isaiah 41:13... at this time a year there are words in this reading which copper and strength  people in the dark days of winter. Many people may be getting tired and overspending as they prepare for Christmas and all the hustle and bustle that goes with it. We read that  thus says the Lord, “I., the Lord your God, hold your right hand, it is I who say to you, do not fear, I will help you”. Further on we read, “I think God of Israel will not forsake you”. I think these words are worth pondering because it reminds us again of God\'s presence in our life in the manner which God comfort and strength enough when we feel stressed out. In particular the words “fear not” reminds us to put our trust in God in order to stay relaxed during this `time. Also the words,”I will help you” reassures us that when we put our trust in God the Spirit will always guide us and inspire us to do what is loving and caring for others but especially for ourselves.

Reflection: when you ponder these words, what the Spirit say to you?

Prayer: Gracious God, the words of Isaiah the prophet were given to the people of old when they were feeling desperate, these words are given to us to enable us to stay relaxed and at peace during the Christmas season. Amen
