Daily reflection: Thursday: December 4/14

Gospel: Matthew 7:21... Jesus is teaching the people and he points out it\'s really important that they be well grounded and have a solid foundation in their life. We read; “not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but only the one who does the will of my father in heaven”. He uses two examples, first, a house built on rock and when the storms blew the house stood steady and solid. Secondly, a house built on sand and when the storms blew a house collapsed and fell down. With this metaphor Jesus saying that the foundation of our life is our relationship with God, Our Father, in whom we live, and move, and have our being. It is this relationship which is the solid foundation of our lives and keep is on course with the storms of life assail us.

Reflection: you have a sense that you are building your life on a rock?

Prayer: Jesus, your relationship with your Father was a cornerstone of your life and gave you a solid foundation upon which to build your ministry. I pray for the grace of God will move me to deepen my relationship with the God who lives within my heart and soul and to allow God, my Father, to be the cornerstone of my life. Amen
