Daily reflections: Thursday: October 9/14

Gospel: new 11:5... in this Gospel Jesus wants to stress the generosity of God. He begins by getting killing examples of people\'s generosity when they\'re asked for help by another person. Sometimes, when a person makes a request of a friend, the friend may be slow in answering, but however if the person continues to persist eventually the friend respond and give him what he/she wants and needs. Now when Jesus talks to one of the greatest gifts of God one with very few people think to ask for although we asked for so many other favors from God. We read: “how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” This teaching of Jesus needs to be taken seriously by those who claim to be followers of Jesus also claim to be in a relationship with God. It is the Holy Spirit that lights the fire in the hearts of people, fire that makes people passionate to work about bringing back the kingdom of God in the hearts of people. It\'s a Holy Spirit who empowers us.

Reflection: a near prayer time doing it ask for the gift of the Spirit?

Prayer: Come Holy Spirit fill hearts of your faithful and enkindle in us the fire of your love. Amen
