bridge builder

Daily reflections: Tuesday: June 17/14

Gospel Matthew 5:43... we know that Jesus put before the people at fresh and new way of looking at and living life, this new way of living life is meant to be radically different from the culture of the day. We read: “I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute... far as you know the sun shines on the evil and the good, and the rain falls and the righteous and on the unrighteous.” Could this radical way of living life any more clear. It\'s a challenging way of life, its way of life that brings people together in unity and harmony, it\'s a way of life that overcomes lack which separates people for example, color of skin, sexual orientation, religion, ethnic differences, and the most challenging thing of all is to pray for your enemies this was unheard of at the time and is even unheard of today. People give lip service to some parts of Gospel and others are simply ignored and loving enemies is the one that\'s most ignored.

Reflection: can you recall one enemy whom you turn into a friend?

Prayer: Jesus are a teacher, you were a visionary and you were able to see a better world where people would live in peace and harmony and would build bridges and take down walls. I prayed that the power the Holy Spirit  will inspire me to be a bridge builder and not a wall builder. Amen
