Daily reflections: Wednesday: April 9/14

Gospel John 8:31... we read that Jesus said to the people who had believed in him, “if you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” Those words of Jesus are so in keeping with its mission  of Jesus was liberation. Time and again Jesus ministered to people in order to liberate them from that which oppressed them be it blame, shame or guilt. He liberated people by telling them to do what the religious leaders told them to do what not to do what they did. Jesus liberated people from the slavery of blind obedience to rules that were not important, Jesus wanted delivery people from poverty and hunger. Liberation was the main theme of the ministry of Jesus.

Reflection: as you reflect on your faith journey where you experience liberation?

PrayerJesus, you are our liberator and shows us how to live a life of freedom and self determination. I am determined ,that with the help of the Holy Spirit ,I will allow myself to be set free from that which binds me up into slavery and help me sleep to experience a new found freedom to be myself. Amen
