alone and lonely....

Daily reflections: Tuesday: April 8/14

Gospel John 8/: 21... in this gospel John has Jesus nearing Jerusalem where he will be arrested, put on trial, and just to be guilty of death. He enters into a dialogue with some of the people and their wondering what the future holds for Jesus. Jesus makes a statement about what he is feeling... he is feeling alone and abandoned by his closest friends. However, he still puts his trust in God and is prepared to go into the future knowing that it\'s going to be very difficult and painful for him. He makes a statement of faith; “and the Father who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what is pleasing to him.” This is something to reflect on in our life. At times we face a very difficult situation we can easily feel alone, abandoned by friends, and feeling adrift. However, hopefully we can dig down deep and in doing so become aware of the Divine Presence within us , like Jesus, put our trust in the unconditional love that God has for us which we experience in a difficult time.

Reflection: can you remember times when putting your trust in God talk you through a difficult experience?

Prayer: God of love, in times of crisis or stress it is so easy to feel alone and unsupported and then we panic. However, when we dig down deep we become aware of your presence within and we can put our trust in you and find an inner strength to deal with the situation. Amen
