Daily reflections: Monday, February 15: 16

Gospel Matthew 23:31... in this Gospel Jesus is teaching people about the value of compassion and living a compassionate life. Jesus describes a compassionate life...” I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to eat, I was a stranger and you welcomed , I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.”Then the people would say when did we ever do that to you? And the King will say ”just as you did it to one of the least of my brothers and sisters you did it to me”. These words describe living a compassionate life, it is in small and caring way, it is being caring about people and sensitive to their pain, it\'s about reaching out to people and not just saying that it\'s too bad.

Reflection: are you living a compassionate life?

Prayer: Jesus, you certainly practiced what you preached, you lived a very compassionate life teaching people good news for living, feeding the hungry, healing the sick, counseling the mentally ill, Jesus, you are setting the example to inspire me to imitate you in my daily life. I  pray the Holy Spirit will give me the wisdom and encourage and a compassionate heart so that I will reach out to people carry a heavy burden. Amen
